MG 65458 Jessore Water Wells |
| |
This project was designed to fund 30 water wells in the area around Jessore, Bangladesh. These wells are being tested to be arsenic-free, so to be safe to drink, and the wells will continue to be tested twice a year by the Rotary Club of Jessore to be sure the wells are providing safe, arsenic-free water. |
This was roughly a $24,000 project funded by contributions from the Rotary Club of Jessore, Bangladesh, Rotary International District 3280 (Bangladesh), the Rotary Club of Pikeville, Kentucky, and several districts of Rotary Zones 29 and 30, with significant funds coming from The Rotary Foundation. |
This project was one of a group of seven matching grant projects begun in partnership between the 24 Rotary Districts of Zones 29 and 30 and the Rotarians of Bangladesh, District 3280 during the 2007-2008 Rotary year. |
